VSP™ Broker
The VSP™ Broker enables the monitoring of multiple email boxes within an organization. Emails sent to one of the monitored mailboxes can then be processed through the VSP Workflow engine with intuitive actions taken based on the such data as the “from” address, “to” address, subject, and body of the email. The workflow engine can, based on the inbound email, then perform actions that are available in the application. The workflow can create new, or update existing requests, create new contact or organization records; initiate customer specific processes in VSP™ applications or any other application. Additionally, emails can be sent automatically to the sender, to acknowledge receipt of the email, as well as to people throughout the supply chain and organization to inform them of receipt.
Asset Management / Installed Base
VSP™ provides full visibility into the configuration and full lifecycle of customer assets/items. Each serialized device includes key item details such as rev-number, firmware version and purchase / install / decommission dates to name a few. Full service history – including depot repair – is also visible directly from the asset record along with active contracts and any adds / moves / changes to the item via the Change Log. A detailed listing of serviceable components (Service BOM), customer and vendor warranties, related parent / child items, along with multi-tiered PM schedules completes the picture.
Support / Services Contracts, Vendor Contracts And Warranty Management
VSP™ provides the ability to manage the full life-cycle of contracts from application of sales warranty through initial contract proposal (including multiple pricing options) through activation and retirement. Supports asset-based and product-class based contracts in addition to multiple draw down types and integrated multi-tiered warranty management. Tightly integrated with service / support operations for automatic application of entitlements including SLAs, billing terms and coverage plans providing a seamless transition from initial warranty entitlements and recovery to ongoing contract coverage.
VSP’s Service Contracts accommodate periodic billing, remedial billing or a combination of both. Contract entitlements can be defined on a global level with asset specific overrides to provide unique T’s & C’s for high value-in-use equipment or other special circumstances based on negotiated terms. Contracts can also be configured for situational entitlements to up-charge for escalated response requirements, after-hours service or any of a variety of criteria.
VSP’s Vendor Contracts module helps manage negotiated terms with third-party service (TPS) providers and equipment suppliers/manufacturers to assure that equipment warranty claims are processed in a timely manner with the manufacturer. Further, VSP’s vendor contracts also help assure that your TPS vendors are meeting defined SLA’s and charging you at the negotiated rates. Also supports drawdowns for pre-purchased number of vendor calls or hours. If assets covered on one or more active service contracts are replaced during repairs, any related contracts are automatically updated to terminate coverage of the removed item and add the new one to the contract.
Engineering Change Notices & Recalls
From time to time, equipment manufacturers issue Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and Product Recalls requiring that some action be taken by the service organization to correct a system deficiency or hazard. ECNs can range from minor hardware or software changes to complete swap-out of systems. Remedial action prescribed by the manufacturer must be performed across the entire population of all customer equipment matching criteria defined in the ECN. Any affected units in warehouse inventory must also be addressed.
VSP’s ECN/Recall module helps assure that product recalls are performed on a timely basis and follow prescribed procedures to prevent possible liability resulting from failure to address hazardous issues on supported equipment.
When creating a new ECN, the user can identify affected assets from the installed base or warehouse inventory and mass-generate individual Actionable Events for each affected unit. ECN’s can be created on a global, regional or customer-specific basis as desired. The generated ECN requests will each include details related to the product recall including specified tasks and any required parts. They can be auto-assigned at creation or manually assigned based on business processes. The ECN manager can then monitor field completion of the recall across the entire affected equipment base to assure its timely completion.

In addition, these Portals can be configured via VSP’s UI and rapidly deployed across the service supply chain with no development (coding) by the System Administrator.

VReport Wizard™ (Powered by Exago™)
Traditional ad hoc report writers do not allow end users to create a single report containing multiple one-to-many relationships. (For example, a report that required a detailed listing by store of revenue by each kitchen appliance sold and revenue by each hardware item sold with subtotals by kitchen appliances and subtotals by hardware.) Rather than having to go through the complicated process of creating and linking sub reports, VReport Wizard™ allows the end user to design a single comprehensive report.
VSP Studio Tool
VSP Studio is the developer tool Kit and is only available for Private Cloud Deployments. The tool allows for a Client’s trained I.T. staff to customize and extend the Vertical Services Platform™. The VSP Studio tool and training allow developers to rapidly customize, and expand the VSP™ platform, as well as the applications built on it. This includes the creation of new business objects, and their functionalities, integrations to other systems, and complex changes in business rules and processes. Developers are trained in not only the technical aspects of the tools but the best practices for making the changes so that future major release upgrades are as seamless as possible.
